Taking care of your skin has both cosmetic and medical benefits. For example, although you can’t slow the passage of time, with a subtle everyday approach to basic skin care, you can reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, dark spots and sun damage.

“Good products do not make a good skincare routine.” Learn the basics of skincare first, then choose the right product for you. If you are a beginner or looking for a basic skincare routine, here we come.

What are the basic steps of skincare?

Skincare routine has three very basic steps:

1. Cleansing, the first step of good skincare routine order

For basic skincare routine you’ll need a cleanser to wash off the dirt, makeup, excess oil, dead skin cells, and environmental impurities that end up on your face naturally throughout the day. Choose a gentle skin cleanser that’s super super basic.

You should not scrub your skin with harsh chemicals or scrubbing creams if you want to see progress in your skin texture and glow.

Skin is something that needs to be pampered to glow. Don’t use any harsh cleansers as the skin doesn’t really need it, rather they can damage your skin.

Over irritating, over cleansing or over aggravating your skin makes your skin more oily or buttery complexion as a result of rebound/reflex reaction. And you really don’t want to damage your skin with the first step of your basic skincare routine.

Use a gel based or a cream cleanser to wash your face, but not soap because soap is alkaline in nature and our skin is not neutral. Soap can make your skin dull looking so don’t mess with pH levels of your skin.

For girls and women, you must remove your makeup in the night before going to the bed. Remove makeup with a good makeup cleanser and then perform your basic skincare routine.

Here I’ve explained how you can make your skin glowing naturally with simple skincare routine.

2. Treat

Treating your skin is another important basic skincare step to follow. Now here comes the real investment, for this you need to be specific about your skin that what kind of treatment your skin needs.

natural skincare routine products

This is very simple, if you have acne prone skin then you need active ingredients to fight acne causing bacteria. The same way look for what your skin requires like acne, rosacea, hyperpigmentation, melasma, wrinkles, eczema, psoriasis, ageing skin .

Now, here is something important DO NOT COPY OTHER’s skincare routine. Yes, it is very basic that skin treatment products may be beneficial for others but may harm your skin.

For example, the two opposite things acne and rosacea because they both look like acne but cannot be treated with the same active ingredient. Vitamin A is a good foundation treatment for acne, but people with rosacea cannot tolerate vitamin A. So for two people with similar looking skin, vitamin A can be extremely beneficial for one and harm the other.

3. Protect

Third step in order of skincare routine is to protect your skin from the sun, especially during the day, is an essential step in skin care for clear and healthy skin. Sunscreen is a must wear in today’s life which protects your skin from UVA damage.

While choosing a sunscreens always look for

  • Your sunscreen should be super light, it doesn’t has to be sad non-comedogenic. If it is sticky then it’s not the right sunscreen. If you are suffering with acne or rosacea then look for a gel format sunscreen.
  • Super important part while choosing a sunscreen is “Labels.” Look for SPF ( sun protection factor) strength on the package. It should be at least 30 and it should not be above 50 because it can adverse effects.
  • After the SPF look for a UVA sign on the packet. Or in free countries it is PA+++. It is very important in a sunscreen as it protects you against the pigmentation.

Take care of your skin and remember that over-the-counter products aren’t completely limited to you, but you have to approach them with caution.

With the right approach, skin care can be effective (and perhaps even fun) way to manage the symptoms of your condition.
